Your prostate gland is about the size of a walnut and is located roughly halfway between your scrotum and anus. The prostate is wrapped around the urethra through which semen and urine is discharged throughyour penis.

Your prostate has many functions, but the main purpose is to produce a thick white fluid called semen, which is mixed with the sperm that is produced by your testicles. Your prostate also produces a protein called prostate-specific-antigen, which turns the semen into liquid.

Your prostate holds the power behind ejaculation, and acts as a pump to force out the seminal fluids during ejaculation.
